Who we are
More To Construction Inc. is a general contracting firm based out of Schaumburg, Illinois, working with both residential and commercial clients throughout the northwest suburbs and the greater Chicagoland area.
The firm was founded in 2025 by Kunaal Patel, who spent seven plus years in the construction industry before establishing More To Construction and recently completed his master’s degree in Construction Management from Purdue University.
Quality workmanship delivered on schedule and within budget is the standard every general contractor is measured against, and we hold to it. What we build on top of it is clarity, candor, and the kind of attention a project only receives when someone is genuinely invested in it.
We tailor our reporting and deliverables to each client’s level of construction experience, so the process stays clear without being oversimplified. We communicate throughout, particularly when schedules shift or unforeseen costs surface, since those are the moments that determine whether a client feels informed or merely managed. Whether you are building new, renovating an existing space, or seeking a second opinion, we begin by understanding your objectives, your budget, and your timeline.
As the firm grows we are widening our service radius, exploring bringing more work in-house, and we are currently pursuing Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification to expand our partnerships across Chicagoland.
Why “More To”
I named the company More To Construction because this industry is about more than building.
A great deal happens before construction begins: the design, naming the project, the color combinations, the finishes. Those decisions carry real weight for the people making them, and they should.
Then there is the work itself. A clean finish looks inevitable once it is done, but it takes someone who spent years learning how to make it look that way — the carpenter who reads a room and tells you where it is out of square, the painter who cuts a line without tape, the electrician working three steps ahead of the drywall. That is time, patience, and real skill, and it is easy to miss precisely because good work never draws attention to itself. I have never wanted to run a job where that effort goes unnoticed.
Just as important are the relationships: with subcontractors, clients, vendors, and the people who ultimately use the space. Strong relationships do not just help us find work, they make the work go smoother. Contracts have replaced handshake deals, but trust still matters, and we still get to shake a few hands on it.
The job also does not end at the final walkthrough. Clients come back needing help with furniture, fixtures, and equipment, a second opinion on a quote, or someone they trust for maintenance and smaller work later on. Most people do not have anyone to call for that.
I want More To Construction to be as good at those parts of the job as it is at the building itself. Every project should be something the tradespeople, the architect, and the client are all proud of, and one everyone is glad they worked on.
